You want to be close to God...don’t you?           

You want to know you are loved, that you have purpose, and that there is more to this life.  All of those things come into view as you discover that God is real, He does love you, and He can be found. 

Not only do you want to be close to Him...but what is mind blowing is He wants to be close to you as well.   He wants to guide you, protect you, and bring out the best in you.  He wants a real relationship...authentic and real.

So, if you want to be close to Him and He wants to be close to you, why do you feel that He is so far away. 

 

One word...Sin. Sin is any choice we make that goes against God's plan.

 

We have all sinned and that sin separates us from God.  We have ignored His commands, disobeyed His rules, and made decisions as if we were our own God.

 

That sin has created a massive separation...and we can’t do anything about it.

We can’t be good enough to cross the divide.

 

God is on one shore of an insurmountable ocean and we are on the other side. 

Sometimes we can see Him and sense Him, but we can’t seem to get closer...unless we are willing to figure out how to cross that divide.

That is where Jesus comes in. 

God knew we couldn’t build our own bridge.  We can’t be good enough.  We can’t be holy enough...but God sent Jesus to do just that.

 

Jesus lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. Then, he rose from the dead.

When He did that, He solved the issue of the divide.  He built a bridge...and that bridge allows us to be close to God both here on earth and in Heaven after.  Jesus made a way so we could have eternal life — We can live forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.

God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be close.

 

If you want to be close to God. 

If you recognize that you have sinned and that sin separates you from God. 

If you realize that Jesus paid the price for your sins by dying on the cross.

If you are willing to ask Him to forgive you and be your Leader/Lord.

 

Then God will adopt you as His child, forgive your sins, offer you eternal life in Heaven, and walk with you through this life... no matter how difficult it gets. 

 

You can step across that bridge simply...

If you want to accept Christ and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying this prayer. 

“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you into my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always.”
